Carl Friedrich Bucherer was a pioneer, an exceptional man and a passionate entrepreneur. Having grown up in a time of worldwide upheaval, when science and art were moving in directions previously unimaginable, he developed into an independent and visionary man. Constantly swimming against the tide, he chose to go his own way.

His business grew so quickly right from the start that his sons Carl Eduard, who owned a watchmaker's in Berlin, and Ernst, watchmaker to the German imperial court, soon returned to their father in Lucerne. In 1919, Carl Friedrich Bucherer presented his first watch collection to the public. Combining traditional values with innovative ideas and stunning jeweler’s skills with the best in watchmaking craftsmanship, the collection was a success right from the start.

In 1933, after the death of Carl Friedrich Bucherer, his two sons took over the business, running it and continuing to build it up in the way their father would have wished.

Throughout an eventful past, the brand and the business have been able to stay true to the Carl Friedrich Bucherer philosophy, remaining independent to this day.
