Zurich-based Boris Blank achieved international fame in the early 1980s as one-half of pop duo "Yello" alongside Dieter Meier. Blank is an archetypical experimentalist. He spent years playing around with sound and recording effects, building up an eclectic library of musical fragments, sounds and noises, from which he ultimately created his very own style. He is rightly known in insider circles as an "Innovator of Sound", and has achieved international recognition as a pioneer of electronic music. He is not a follower of music trends – rather he is the one who sets the trends. "Yello" have never stopped pushing the boundaries of their inimitable style. After 30 years in the business, Blank is still at the top of his game. He does what he enjoys and the results are simply awesome. Not only on Yello albums, but also in his music for film and advertising. As someone who is passionate about experimenting, he just goes on getting better and better – this highly acclaimed, award-winning artist is a source of inspiration for famous DJs, producers and a sizeable fanbase in the electronic music scene.
