A new addition to the CFB family

When putting in top performances out on the field, pro football player Christian Fassnacht uses his excellence, creativity, and precision – qualities that are just as important in the world of watchmaking as they are in football. Carl F. Bucherer is dedicated to upholding these values both with its exceptional timepieces and through its enduring commitment to maintaining long-standing partnerships. The Lucerne watch manufacturer is therefore very proud to announce the Swiss star midfielder as the most recent addition to the CFB family.

Carl F. Bucherer has been supporting the Swiss Football Association (SFA) and the national team as the official timekeeper since 2016. The CFB team is on the sidelines cheering on the players at every single game. After the addition of Ricardo Rodríguez, the Lucerne watch manufacturer is delighted to sign up a further player from the Swiss national football team and strengthen its commitment to the SFA by adding Christian Fassnacht to the lineup.

“While Christian is passionate about his native land, as a successful national team player, he is also completely at home anywhere in the world. With his strong connection to Switzerland, proven talent, and passion he represents a set of values that are very important to our company,” commented Sascha Moeri, CEO of Carl F. Bucherer. Christian Fassnacht grew up in Thalwil. The 26-year-old started his football career in the FC Zürich youth team. After stints at FC Tuggen, FC Winterthur, and FC Thun, he made his way to the Swiss capital. Having seen success in an offensive role at these teams, he moved on to the Bern team BSC Young Boys in the 2017/2018 season, playing a key role in its first league championship in 32 years.

In October 2018, Fassnacht made his debut for the Swiss national team in an away game against Belgium, and has played in four international ties since then, scoring one goal. For Christian Fassnacht, the partnership with the Lucerne-based watchmaker really makes sense: “Carl F. Bucherer is a successful international brand that is deeply rooted in the heart of Switzerland. We share a real passion for our home country and a desire to keep moving forward, and we both constantly strive to achieve perfection. I’m therefore very happy about this partnership,” the newest addition to the CFB family commented.

1888
by Carl F. Bucherer

What does it mean to be a free spirit? It’s a question we have asked the entrepreneurs and adventurers who feature in this issue of 1888 – from the al fresco chefs who cook on bonfires in some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes to a female tailor who broke the mould in the bastion of tradition that is London’s Savile Row. While the answer varies from person to person, they all agree that free spirits trust their own instincts and forge their own paths.
