Heritage Bicompax Annual
The new Heritage BiCompax Annual has adopted the elegant shape of its predecessor, but in a modern 41 mm diameter stainless steel case. It is available in two versions, each limited to just 888 pieces – a tribute to the founding year of the Lucerne company with the long-standing tradition in 1888. Modern and pure, the stainless steel model boasts a silver dial, black totalizators, and a structured rubber strap. The bicolor model features a rose-and-champagne dial with the bezel, push buttons, and crown crafted from precious 18 k rose gold – a subtle nod to the baroque opulence of Lucerne. This exquisite horological package fastens to the wrist with a cognac brown calfskin strap.
Heritage collection
Heritage Tourbillon Double Peripheral Limited Edition
The first model from the new Heritage collection is limited to just 88 pieces – a homage to the year Carl F. Bucherer was founded, 1888. The cosmopolitan and internationally renowned luxury watch manufacturer was established in Lucerne in the heart of Switzerland. The new timepiece reflects the golden luster of the baroque city itself, with an elaborately finished 42.50 mm, 18-karat rose gold case. Another homage to the birthplace of Carl F. Bucherer is the movement bridge crafted in 18-karat white gold, which features a hand-engraved cityscape of Lucerne. It covers the entire back of the movement, with the exception of the tourbillon. At the center of the intricate engraving – the result of more than two weeks of meticulous craftsmanship – is the Lucerne Chapel Bridge, the landmark of the city. There is a special detail in this engraving: a swan.
free spirit
since 1888
Self-confidence is an essential precondition for becoming established as an entrepreneur. Carl Friedrich Bucherer’s self-confidence was based on creativity, technical skills, prudence and a steadfast adherence to his goals. Since its formation more than 125 years ago, the company formed by this visionary figure has remained in the sole ownership of the Bucherer family. Continuity, a free spirit and entrepreneurial independence are thus hallmarks of our brand, as is the dynamism that has again and again put us decisively ahead of time.
The pocket watch
At the end of the nineteenth century, the pocket watch was an essential accessory for gentlemen. Yet Carl Friedrich Bucherer believed that wristwatches would replace the traditional pocket watch in the near future – and was soon to be proven right.
The wrist watch for gentleman and ladies
Much like the pocket watches of earlier decades, the exclusive dress wristwatches of the Twenties often featured a seconds subidal positioned at 6o‘clock on the dial.
The chronographs
In this decade, Bucherer developed an entire line of chronographs featuring one, two or three subdials a tachometer and a big date.
The world timer
As a consequence of the cosmopolitan spirit, the need for carefree timekeeping made the world timer and the measuring of different time zones very popular
The chronometer
Bucherer specialised in certified chronometers and became one of the most important Swiss watchmakers presenting the revolutionary Beta 21 quartz movement
The archimedes supercompressor
The epitome of a sports watch: the Bucherer Archimedes Supercompressor diver's watch, watertight to 200 meters, combined with world time mechanism, garnered much attention back in 1971.
A more daring design
As the timepieces had reached a certain technical and qualitative maturity, watchmakers started to rethink the visual appearance and forms, colors, and compositions became more unconventional, extravagant, and yes – funky.
Networking nineties
In the Nineties, mechanical timepieces experienced a come back and played a considerable role primarily in the high-end segment – making Switzerland the leading source of luxury watches.
Ode to a rich heritage
The heritage line is a tribute to both our multifaceted tradition and our hnometown of Lucerne. Each exclusive, limited-edition timepiece is an ode to our rich heritage.
